10th Trends Website Launched

CHENEY, Washington - Eastern Washington University's Institute for Public Policy and Economic Analysis has introduced its latest Community Indicators project with the launch of the Yakima Valley Trends website. Overall, this is the 10th indicators project for the Institute.

The website, provides relevant data about the health and prosperity of the greater Yakima Valley. The project was unveiled at the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce meeting on Nov. 13. Utilizing interactive graphics the website provides access to 140 current trends and statistics in almost a dozen categories.

Indicators are provided in the areas of agriculture, economic vitality, education, demographics, equity/inclusion, health, housing, public safety, recreation/tourism and transportation. This comprehensive set of facts will help foster informed decision-making in both private and public settings around Yakima County.

Under its Community Indicators Initiative, the institute has created similar trends websites for more than a dozen other counties around the state of Washington and North Idaho, as well as one in Fresno, California.
